Who I Follow

I honestly choked up and cried a little when I first read this.

My brother, my friend, is also a gay Filipino American.

We are much closer than any blood ties some place such high value on.

His struggle makes me feel helpless.

I will forever fight for any of my friends to love who they wish.

Our lives cannot and should not be determined by the religious values of others.

We are individuals and must have the right to live as so.

There is so much more one can say on this topic.

But I can never stress this enough….for those who still wish to deny our brothers and sisters a full life.

Move on. This world isn’t only yours to mold and change.

You cannot force others to live as you do.

Love as you do.

Move on. Change.
